to wrap up the cleanse i swore i would document... i did not complete it. not eating solid food is hard. the end.

another year has come and gone, and i'll have to say that 2015 is probably my favorite to date. benson grew and learned so much. mat switched jobs and grew so much in his new career, which has been a huge blessing to our family. i graduated college, got licensed, and am working as a temp dental hygienist wherever i am needed. we have a new home, and we actually got to renovate it this time into something that we love. 2015's been real good to us, so 2016, you have some big shoes to fill!

i started whole 30 awhile back, but after a week and a half into it, mat went out of town, i got lonely, and i split a pizza with my sister. yes, i ate half a pizza, haha. not my proudest moment, but hey. a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. that following week i restarted, just to be interrupted by a bomb-diggity trip to mexico. i ate whatever i wanted the following week, went to knott's berry farm for our 5th anniversary (holler!), and am now back on. day 1. whole 30 really isn't too difficult for me, unless i'm pms-ing. the hardest part for me is not being lazy and cooking/preparing all my food haha. i've gotten in a bad habit of quick, convenient foods which, coincidentally, have the most crap in them. so i'm using whole 30 as a reset and to help me make better food choices a habit.

now back to that mexico trip. seriously, it was amazing! mat's manager eric's in laws own a beach house in puerto penasco, and he took a good chunk of the team down. every morning, dolphins would swim past the beach house, pretty close to the shore, and we would take the jet ski out and just cruise along with them. i can honestly say that it was the most amazing experience i've ever had! it was pretty scary at first, but nothing can top it. garrison was brave enough to jump in with the dolphins, but i was scared/the water was too cold for me to get brave enough. either way, i could have done it all day long.

benson loved the beach in mexico. the waves were teeny, so he would just run in and out of them, and eventually he figured out how fun throwing sand is too haha. we were outside pretty much all day long while we were there. eric and courtney's daughter everly is about 6 months older than benson and they had so much fun playing/fighting over toys together. other mexico activities included sailing on preston's boat, spike ball, and overall chilling. that trip convinced me that i need a mexican beach house one day.

the trip to knott's berry farm was kind of last minute, but we had bought tickets with brandon and aimee back in january and only had until april to use them. this was one of the only weeks we could all go, plus it was our anniversary, so wins all around. keaton and jenn decided to come along, so we all bunked in one room at the knotts berry farm hotel together, and spent saturday at the park. i love love love rollercoasters, but as it turns out, my body no longer does haha. specifically my head and my stomach. we started off on the silver bullet, which was so fun, but a little too intense for me. 4 rides later on la revelucion, i lost it and wouldn't go on any more rides till after lunch. food helped, but a second go on la revolucion was probably not my best decision haha. i managed to not throw up, and still had so much fun. supreme scream ended up being my favorite ride - plenty of butterflies, feeling like i was floating, and no sudden left and right turns to give me a headache. we ended the night at the ESPN zone at downtown disney for dinner. honestly, going to downtown disney just made me want to go to disneyland haha, but mat promises we'll go soon! i want to go before we have to pay for benson, so he'll still enjoy it. but we know he won't remember it, so we will probably wait to go again when all of our kids are older and can really appreciate it. all in all, a really fun weekend.

now it's back to real life. no eating whatever i want. keeping up on chores. dentist appointments and oil changes. all the fun stuff, ya know? we probably won't have anymore vacations until after summer, so now is the time to prep for our second summer in ohio!
